Hi

I've had a look through the forum but couldn't find anything about this specifically. Sorry if I've missed it.

I'm trying to find a quick way to export the data from a single source into excel. What I really need is to end up with an excel file that has columns showing source name, coded text and then each of the nodes used, ideally each in a separate column.

I've not found anything that can do this and have had to do it manually but it takes about as long as the coding took initially.

Thanks in advance,

Thomas

Hello Thomas,

The information that you are seeking can be extracted by running a report, however it will be in a .doc format. You can try to convert the data from the word document to excel.

Please see the following link for more information on running a report: http://help-nv10.qsr...nd_extracts.htm

Kind regards,

Sameer

Hello Thomas,

Please find below step by step instructions to achieve the requested results:

In NVivo, go to reports and create new report. Select the following options:

- New Report via Wizard
- Create report from a node view
- Under Coded Source.Coding Reference select Coded text, Under Node.Coded Source select Name and finally under Node select Name. Press next.
- On step 3 of the wizard, click Add and under Node.Coded Source select Name, click OK. Leave the Equal to parameter to the default value of prompt for parameter. This will allow you to choose a particular source in the next step.
- In the next step, keep Node.name under available fields and add coded text and source name to the right , click next and select default values for the remaining steps. In the last step, select the particular source for which you would like to see the node and coded text.
Once the report is displayed, right click and export as excel sheet.

I hope this helps.

Kind Regards
Sameer
