Hello,

I'm trying to work with a transcript (mostly code it, but I like to annotate as I code) that I created in NVivo for Mac and I do not have the option to create an annotation. I have coding stripes on.

Any ideas how to get around this?

Thanks!

Raychel

Hi Raychel,

You can annotate text in the following source types:
Documents
PDFs
Externals
Memos

In current release of NVivo for Mac you cannot annotate text in datasets or audio or video transcripts. I have raised the matter with our Product Manager who collates all feature requests and prioritises them accordingly.

Bhupesh, could you also forward a request to the Product Manager to enable viewing and printing all annotations as stand alone items? Annotations are created analytical content and need to be viewable in their own right, not just in the sources. See my post on the "limitations of annotations".

Many thanks!
