Hello,

I am a post-graduate researcher and NVivo has been provided to me with annual license by Loughborough University.

These are the technical information:

  • NVivo V 10.2.2 (1380)
  • Mac OSX 10.9.5

Since I have started using NVivo 10 on my Mac I have experienced several issues that I have briefly summarised below.

  1. First NVivo fails to import audio file the most of the time showing the alert "unable to generate waveform" (I have previously posted a comment here);
  2. Once the files had been imported (I do not know exactly why) however they disappeared at the next restart [see Screen Shot 2016-11-21 at 19.18.07]
  3. The icon to import pictures is not available in the data sub-menu [see Screen Shot 2016-11-21 at 19.18.46]

I would ask you whether there are any solutions to sort this out as at the moment I am not able to even use the most basic features of the software.

I am look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you in advance for your kind help,

regards,

Alessandro

Hi Alessandro,

We will need more information to investigate the audio file import and disappearing issue that you are experiencing. Could you please fill out a support form at: http://www.qsrintern...ustomer-support mentioning this forum post and we’ll be able to assist you further.

Importing images is not available in NVivo 10 for Mac. Refer to the below help link for more information:

http://help-nv10mac....iniTOCBookMark2

NVivo 11 for Mac, which is currently the latest version of NVivo, allows you to import pictures: http://help-nv11mac....iniTOCBookMark2

You may ask your University for an NVivo 11 license key which will let you install and activate NVivo 11 for Mac. The latest setup file of NVivo 11 for Mac can be downloaded from the below link:

http://www.qsrintern...pport/downloads

Once you have installed NVivo 11 for Mac, you will be able to open your existing NVivo 10 for Mac projects as mentioned in the below FAQ:

http://www.qsrintern...ect-in-nvivo-11

Regards,

Rahul
