I have about 600 source documents (respondents) and they all have attributes (demographic data, etc.) assigned to them. I want to create sets based on attributes (e.g., a set with only males and another with only females) so that I can run matrices with targeted groups of respondents. However, I'm not having any success populating my sets with the intended respondents. When I run a coding query for a particular attribute (e.g., sex = 1) on all sources by all users, and in the "query options" tab select "create results as new set" and name the set as "males" then run the query, I get a message stating that "the query returned no results." If I go to classifications and chart the sex attribute, I see that I have 269 cases where sex = 1! Any ideas why the query isn't finding them?
Thanks,

Hi Jason,.
The way you do this is to use the Options in the Find bar at the top of the List View. If you can't see it, go to Tools > Find. The Option you want is Advanced Find. Change Document to Cases in the Look for slot at the top of the dialogue, and then choose the bottom option - Cases where ... and select the options you want. When you click Find Now it will put the results into the List View (click on the + to expand the list). Select them all (use shift-click) and save them as a Set, then you can use that Set as the Selected Item in your query. Note that Find results don't persist after you change the screen (which is why you save them as a Set).
